Just thought I would post a few of our trek pics. We had an absolute amazing time filled with spiritual experiences to last a lifetime. There is so much to share that it can't really be done adequately on the blog. One thing that stuck out to me was that as we were ever aware of the strong spiritual feelings present, Satan was there. When we walked into Martin's Cove Trent had decided to be baptized, by the time we left he had decided he didn't need that and that his life was pretty good. Then back at the Sweetwater crossing he was going to be baptized. Back and forth. There was a spiritual battle going on that most of us weren't even aware of. I was amazed at the testimonies of our youth. Abbey and Savanna and Tony all bore very strong testimonies of the gospel and of Our Savior Jesus Christ. One of the boys testimony struck my heart. He just moved to Rexburg one week before the Trek. He didn't know us or any of the youth. He stood up there and said, "I am not afraid to say that I believe in Jesus Chrsit!" He is only 14. I thought of the courage that must have taken him to stand in front of strangers and kids his own age. I felt the same things rush through me. I am not afraid to say that I believe in Jesus Christ! I am grateful that Tony was given this calling so that I could be a part of it! Tony is an amazing leader. He had everything figured out just right so the spirit could take over.
Friday night Trent decided to get baptized. Tony will have to tell you all the funny story related to this night... Saturday morning everyone was pretty tired and dragging their feet. Trent decided he better tell everyone his plans instead of surprise them because they were all moving so slow. If they didn't pick up the pace, it would never happen. He gathered them all around and told them he was going to be baptized but needed everyone to help hurry and break camp. They all cried and then got to work. Breakfast was cooked, eaten, camp was taken down, handcarts loaded in 35 minutes! It took us 2 hours and 20 minutes to walk to the campsite on Thursday, we were back at the visitors center in 1 hour! Those kids had motor's on the handcarts that last day! They were so excited to be a part of the baptism! It was beautiful! I think Karie is still in shock! Trent was confirmed on Sunday morning and our testimony meeting went for 2 hours and 20 minutes! He was made a priest in the Aaronic Priesthood today! The gospel is true and the harvest continues!
